The impact of environmental film festivals nowadays

On the occasion of the 50th EKOFILM Film Festival, we will present the last screened film in the competition with a discussion with Rachel Caplan and Angelika Lefkadita, producer of A Call from the Wild.

Environmental issues have become a commonplace part of everyday reality. This has not always been the case; the EKOFILM film festival has a long tradition. Jitka Kotrlová, the festival's dramaturge, will talk to the guests about the changing forms of film festivals, their themes and current trends in film production.

The discussion will loosely follow the introduction to A Call from the Wild.

Rachel Caplan was the director of the San Francisco Green Film Festival, an environmental film festival she founded in 2010, for ten years. After returning to the UK, she founded the Montrose LandxSea Film Fest.
